Rules for Sellers
Salesinn's policies are rules and guidelines that help to create a safe, fair and enjoyable trading environment for all Salesinn members. As a seller, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding Salesinn's selling policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in the User Agreement.
Learning about Salesinn's selling policies before you list an item will help you to avoid unintentionally breaking rules. Salesinn's selling policies are updated to respond to marketplace, Community and security issues, so it is important to check them regularly for changes.

Rules about Prohibited and Restricted Items - What items can and cannot be listed
Before you list your item, you need to find out if your item is allowed on Salesinn and if the type of item is subject to certain restrictions to avoid potential issues with your listing. As a seller, you are ultimately responsible for making sure that selling an item is legal in the eyes of the law. Prohibited and Restricted Items Include Following:
Adult Material
Alcohol
Animals and Wildlife Products - examples include live animals, mounted specimens, and ivory
Artifacts
Beta Software
Bootleg/Pirated Recordings

Violations of these policies may result in a range of actions, including:
Rules about Intellectual Property - Items and listings that have the potential of violating certain copyrights, trademarks, or other rights.
Salesinn is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of third parties and to providing its users with a safe place to trade. Infringement is the unauthorised use of other peoples intellectual property - like copyrighted material and trademarks.
Rules that affect what you can sell on Salesinn
The following items are restricted or prohibited because they would potentially infringe on intellectual property rights.
Replica and counterfeit Items
Faces, names and signatures and autographed items
Media - movie prints (35 mm, 70 mm), bootleg recordings, recordable media, promotional copies and digitally delivered goods.
Software including academic software, beta Software, OEM software
Equipment that would support unauthorised copies including mod chips, game enhancers, and boot discs.
Rules for Listings - Actions that are not allowed in listings
The following are the Rules for Listing with links to the specific policy pages that have examples, any exceptions, and a link that you can use to report a violation of that policy.
Listings must not misrepresent items.
Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot:
List items in inappropriate categories.
Misrepresent the item location from which their item will be shipped.
Include brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description. This is known as keyword spamming.
Have misleading titles that do not accurately describe the item for sale.
Listings cannot use techniques to avoid or circumvent Salesinn fees
Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot:
Offer a catalogue from which buyers may directly order.
Allow buyers a choice of items.
Exceed multiple listing limits.
List a single item but offer additional identical items for sale in the item description.
Include separate payment surcharges that buyers pay to use ordinary forms of payment.
Charge excessive shipping.
Offer the opportunity through Salesinn to purchase the item or other merchandise outside of Salesinn.
Use listing content to promote outside-of-Salesinn sales or prohibited items.
Listings must promote a fair and level playing field, and provide an enjoyable and safe experience for buyers.
Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot:
Solicit buyers to mail cash or use other payment methods not specifically permitted by Salesinn as accepted payment methods.
Include links that do not conform to Salesinn's Links Policy. Specific types of links that are limited include links to further descriptions, email address, photos, listing terms and conditions and Salesinn eStores.
Use certain types of HTML and JavaScript in item listings, eStores pages.
Promote giveaways, random drawings, raffles, prizes or bonuses.
Create a listing that does not offer an item.
Advertise a desire to buy or trade items.
Include third-party endorsements of Salesinn members.
Include third party credits beyond what is acceptable.
Use profanity in a listing, except as allowed in media titles.
Rules for Accepted Payments - Forms of payment that sellers may accept from buyers
Seller cannot offer payment options other than the Payment Options available on Salesinn payment service. Following options shall be considered as not permitted payment option and shall be considered as violation of this policy and actions, disciplinery actions can be initiated against seller(s) for the violations. Buyers who pay through any payment method other than permitted Payment Options, those transaction(s) shall not be eligible for coverage under Salesinn guarantee. Example of some of the not permitted payment options are as follows:
Mail cash
Instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram
Deposits in Sellers Bank
Direct Transfer of money to Sellers or Sellers offered Bank Account without using Salesinn Payment Service
The above list is merely indicative and not exhaustive
Sellers should not request payment through any method other than those mentioned as "Permitted Payment Option" above.
In addition to the above rules, here are some additional policy violations not permitted on Salesinn:
Seller Non-performance - Sellers cannot fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted, significantly misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and item description outlined in the listing, or refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.
Tax Policy - Sellers must pay relevant fees and taxes.
Both buyers and sellers cannot interfere with a transaction or offer to buy or sell listed items outside of the Salesinn site.
To report a policy violation:
Locate and review the policy page that deals with the violation.
Send an email to "admin@salesinn.com with subject: "Policy Violation on Salesinn"
Enter the item number(s) of the listing that you want to report.
After your report is received:
Salesinn will consider the circumstances of an alleged policy violation and the user's trading record before taking action.
Disciplinary action may result in listing cancellation, limits on account privileges, account suspension, forfeit of Salesinn fees on cancelled listings, and loss of PowerSeller status.
If a complaint can't be proven with certainty, Salesinn may take no action.
Due to privacy issues, it's not possible for Salesinn to discuss the results of an investigation. |
